Nets players continue to give back during holiday season

Kevin Durant and Joe Harris have lent a helping hand to those in the community during the holiday season.

Throughout the holiday season, the Brooklyn Nets, both as an organization as well as some of the individual players, made sure to give back to the community. Those who’ve done so publicly have done it in various capacities.

Kyrie Irving held his Kyrie Invitational at Barclays Center on Monday, which gave local high school basketball players the chance to play on an NBA court, while their friends and families took in the Brooklyn arena the Nets call home.

Kevin Durant gave to children whose families are going through a tough time. The superstar provided gifts for 40 children and visited the Coalition for the Homeless in New York.

Joe Harris partnered with Pay Away the Layaway to help parents getting gifts for their kids.

DeAndre Jordan gave gift cards to children who are part of Brooklyn Combine so they could shop for gifts of their choosing.

But the organization itself stole the show.

The Nets partnered with Nike to bring back the music program at Madiba Prep Middle School in Brooklyn, and the two organizations will continue to fund the program.
