Nets’ Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson discuss close friendship, playing for Team USA

Brooklyn Nets wings Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson recently spoke to Vishakha Deshpande about their friendship and being on Team USA.

Brooklyn Nets wings Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson have been close to each other ever since they came into the league as the 10th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and as the 11th overall pick in the 2019 draft, respectively. They became so close that it led Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton to nickname the pair the “twins” during their time in Phoenix.

Not only have the close friends grown together, but they’ve also been traded together and now, they’re playing together on the United States Men’s National Basketball Team in the 2023 FIBA World Cup to hopefully bring home the gold.

While Bridges and Johnson are looking forward to trying to win a lot of games in Brooklyn, they first have to play for their country. They recently talked with Vishakha Deshpande before they faced the Greek National Team on Friday and here’s some of what they had to say about their friendship and about representing the USA:
