Nets hold off Pistons as Irving, Dinwiddie honor Kobe Bryant

The Nets honored Kobe Bryant and his daughter before Wednesday’s game, then Brooklyn’s guards continued the theme throughout the night.

Both Kyrie Irving and Spencer Dinwiddie have their own signature shoes. Nike produces the Kyrie brand. Dinwiddie made is own K8IROS brand.

On Wednesday, neither of the Brooklyn guards wore their signature shoes. They had Kobe’s on as they and the Nets honored Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, who passed away on Sunday, along with his daughter, Gianna, and several others, in a helicopter crash in Los Angeles County.

The Nets guards also honored Bryant with their play, combining for 48 points in Brooklyn’s 125-115 win over the Detroit Pistons.

Dinwiddie all scorers with 28 points. He went 8-for-13 from the floor (4-for-8 from 3-point territory). He also had six assists.

Irving scored 20 after missing Sunday’s game against the New York Knicks, finishing 7-for-16 from the floor (2-for-5 from 3-point territory). He also had five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 33 minutes.

Taurean Prince was lights out in the win, as well. He went 9-for-16 from the field (4-for-8 from deep) in his 22-point performance. Prince also had four steals and seven boards.

DeAndre Jordan also grabbed eight rebounds in his first game back since he dislocated his right middle finger on January 15. Jarrett Allen scored 11 points, as did Caris LeVert. Garrett Temple finished with 10.

Allen also blocked four shots.
