Nets expect Jamal Crawford to miss ‘first few games’ of playoffs

Jamal Crawford could make an appearance for the Brooklyn Nets in the 2020 NBA Playoffs, but he won’t be available to start the series.

Jamal Crawford’s Brooklyn Nets debut didn’t come right at the start of the NBA restart due to the fact the veteran guard was new to the team, and he hadn’t played in an NBA game since April of 2019.

Unfortunately, when Crawford finally did make his first Nets appearance, he suffered a left hamstring strain early in Brooklyn’s upset win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

He hasn’t played in a game since and won’t be available in the opening game of the Nets’ first-round matchup with the Toronto Raptors on Monday.

Now, Crawford hasn’t been ruled out for the entire series, but Nets interim head coach Jacque Vaughn told reporters on a Zoom call before Monday’s game the veteran guard will “probably miss the first few games of this series for sure,” per Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News.
