The NBA Summer League has officially kicked off with young talent showcasing their skills, Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas carried the team in their first pre-pre-season game.
Thomas racked up 31 points while shooting an impressive 47 percent from the field. He also tallied two assists, two boards and a block in his debut this Summer. The young guard was able to get 17 points in the fourth quarter alone, mounting a comeback but the team inevitable fell to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Thomas currently is the second-highest scorer per game in the Summer League, only one point behind reigning NBA champion Golden State’s Moses Moody.
David Duke Jr. also had a good game for the Nets, scoring 22 points.
Thomas’s dominance on the court in July must be familiar as he earned Summer League Co-MVP last year.
It’s also worth mentioning that some of his more experienced teammates stopped by to support him, including recently acquired Royce O’Neal, Ben Simmons and Nic Claxton.
