Nets’ Cam Johnson admits that recent losing is wearing on the team

After Tuesday’s 112-85 loss at the New Orleans Pelicans, Brooklyn Nets forward Cam Johnson said that the team has to shed its rut soon.

The Brooklyn Nets have had a pretty tough three weeks or so as they have struggled for the most part and recently have not even been competitive. With the way that Tuesday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans went, it’s clear that plenty of things are wrong with the Nets and it’s wearing on everyone.

Brooklyn lost to the Pelicans on Tuesday 112-85 and it wasn’t bad enough that the Nets lost the game, but it was how they lost. The Nets lost the first quarter 32-18 and they couldn’t get anything going on either end of the floor and interestingly did not play with much energy or effort.

Brooklyn forward Cam Johnson is one of the few players that have played well for the Nets recently and unfortunately, that has come during the worst stretch for Brooklyn this season. Offense had been the strong part for the Nets this season and now, that is starting to falter for them as well.

Brooklyn shot just 35.7% from the field and 25.6% from behind the three-point line in a game where they allowed New Orleans to shoot 46.6% from the field and 41% from deep. Johnson told Brian Lewis of the New York Post after the game that the team is in a rut and that they have to shed it at some point if they are going to get back to playing like they were in the beginning of the season.

The Nets play at the Houston Rockets on Wednesday so they have little time to turn things around.
