At long last, the Kevin Durant drama has concluded, with the former MVP remaining with the Brooklyn Nets for the time being. Durant and his business partner Rich Kleiman met with team owners Joe and Clara Wu Tsai, general manager Sean Marks, and Nets head coach Steve Nash in Los Angeles, with all parties agreeing the best path forward would be for KD to shelve his trade demand. The club tweeted out a statement the next day.
For weeks the relationship between and the Nets looked impossibly frayed. A battle of leaked intel through the media only turned the heat up higher, though Brooklyn’s understandably high asking price for KD made executing a trade quite difficult. Durant has four years left on his contract and will turn 34 this September.
