Netflix plans to release 40 games in 2023

“We’re going to continue building our portfolio,” says the company’s VP of external games.

If you’re eager to see more video games from Netflix, there’s good news: the company will launch roughly 40 within 2023 alone.

Leanne Loombe, vice president of external games at Netflix, explained via the company’s official blog on Monday that around 40 games will release for the official Netflix app this year.

“Our goal is to develop a broad portfolio of games — in different genres and formats — because we believe everyone can find joy in games if they discover the one (or many!) that is right for them,” Loombe said.

Netflix has quite a number of excellent games available to subscribers already, and many more are on the way.

“This year, we’re going to continue building our portfolio, and that means new games every month,” Loombe continues. “Members will discover indie darlings, award-winning hits, RPGs, narrative adventures, puzzle games and everything in between, and we’re working with the world’s leading studios to bring you these games.”

The blog also mentions that 16 first-party games are in development at Netflix, with another 70 in the works with various partners.

Early this year, Ubisoft released Valiant Hearts: Coming Home on Netflix’s app – the first of three exclusives for the platform. Mighty Quest: Rogue Palace, the next exclusive from Ubisoft, launches on April 18, 2023. Both companies are working on an Assassin’s Creed live-action series too, but it recently lost its former showrunner, Jeb Stuart
