Netflix continues to feed our ‘Bridgerton’ obsession with new spinoff series

Give us all the ‘Bridgerton.’ And then give us more.

Fans of Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton have plenty to be excited about. Not only is filming currently underway on the second season and the series renewed through season 4, but there’s a new prequel series in the works that should have viewers excited.

Netflix announced a new Bridgerton spinoff series that will focus on Bridgerton characters Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) and Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) during their younger years.

The limited series will dive specifically into Queen Charlotte’s origin story.

“Many viewers had never known the story of Queen Charlotte before Bridgerton brought her to the world, and I’m thrilled this new series will further expand her story and the world of Bridgerton,” Netflix’s Head of Global TV, Bela Bajaria, said in a statement.

“Shonda [Rhimes] and her team are thoughtfully building out the Bridgerton universe so they can keep delivering for the fans with the same quality and style they love. And by planning and prepping all the upcoming seasons now, we also hope to keep up a pace that will keep even the most insatiable viewers totally fulfilled.”

The series will delve into Queen Charlotte’s youth and love life. As fans know, Queen Charlotte ends up marrying King George III, where she serves as the highest order in the Bridgerton universe.

To say that fans are excited for more Bridgerton would be an understatement.
