Nebraska volleyball dominates Northwestern in road sweep

The Huskers hit the road for a Wednesday night matchup with Northwestern. Nebraska dominated the match (25-15, 25-16, 25-21), earning its 11th sweep and 18th straight win of the season.

On offense, the Huskers served nine aces, along with 45 kills off 86 attacks for a season-high hitting percentage of .395. This overshadowed Northwestern, as it finished with 26 kills off 85 attacks.

Merritt Beason and freshman Harper Murray both finished with double-digit kills for Nebraska, combining for 23 off 48 attacks. Beason also finished with seven digs, three blocks, two set assists and a service ace. Murray delivered four digs and a season-high four service aces.

Bekka Allick and freshman Andi Jackson each performed tremendously, combining for 16 kills off 19 attacks. Both just missed a perfect attack percentage in the win, with Allick going nine-of-10 and Jackson going seven-of-nine.

Freshman Bergen Reilly and Lexi Rodriguez rounded out the team’s performance. Reilly finished the match with 38 assists, along with six digs and two service aces. Rodriguez snatched nine digs, two service aces and a set assist.

Nebraska is now 18-0 on the season and will return home to take on No. 1 Wisconsin on Saturday night. The match is set for 7 p.m. and can be viewed on Big Ten Network.
