The Nebraska volleyball team has made an addition via the transfer portal. San Diego middle blocker Leyla Blackwell comes to the Cornhuskers with one year of eligibility remaining.

Blackwell began her career at Indiana before transferring to San Diego. In 2022, she helped the Toreros to the Final Four. In 2023, she had 2.25 kills per set while hitting .329.

She’ll be joining a crowded group at middle blocker. Blackwell will be competing against Bekka Allick and Andi Jackson, who each started last season.

She was also a three-time All-WCC First Team selection and a 2022 Honorable Mention All-American.
