Nebraska has offered one of the nation’s top safeties in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Nebraska has offered one of the nation’s top defensive backs in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

On Monday, Joey O’Brien, a standout at La Salle College High School outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, reported receiving an offer from the Huskers.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound defensive back is rated as a top-200 prospect across the recruiting industry.

The Pennsylvania native has now received two dozen scholarship offers. While his recruitment is just starting, the early indications are that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish may be the team to beat. Penn State, an in-state program, is also considered a top contender for O’Brien.
