Nebraska forward Rienk Mast will not be able to play next season for the Cornhuskers, it was announced on Thursday. The 22-year-old, 6-foot-10 native of the Netherlands will undergo left knee surgery soon, which will cause him to miss the entirety of next season.
Despite redshirting during his four year stint at Bradley, Mast will be able to maintain his final season of collegiate eligibility by using a medical redshirt this upcoming season.
During his first season with the Huskers, Mast averaged 12.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game while playing in and starting in 32 of the Huskers’ 34 games last season.
Prior to his time with the Huskers, he spent four seasons at Bradley including being a major contributor for three seasons from 2020-21 through 2022-23. In 88 career games at Bradley, Mast averaged 11.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.
