The 2023 season is rapidly approaching, but that hasn’t stopped Nebraska from enticing players to join their program for future seasons.

The 2023 season is rapidly approaching, but that hasn’t stopped Nebraska from enticing players to join their program for future seasons.

Class of 2026 prospect, edge rusher Kevin Ford Jr. from Duncanville, Texas, has announced via his social media channels that he has received an offer from Nebraska. The 2026 prospect is the No. 1 rated player from the state of Texas and 36th nationally.

Even though it is exciting to see the Huskers competing for the top players, they will face a lot of competition for his signature in due time. On3 has the SMU Mustangs, local to Duncanville, as his most likely choice of destination. However, it is unlikely that SMU will pull that high of a prospect.

The biggest schools of contention to consider currently are Penn State and Texas A&M. However, given the timeframe for the 2026 Class, Nebraska has plenty of time to build a solid framework to entice many high-end recruits like Kevin Ford Jr.
