Nebraska Basketball ready to begin exhibition season

The Nebraska men’s basketball team will play their first exhibition game of the 2023-24 season.

The Nebraska men’s basketball team will play their first exhibition game of the 2023-24 season this weekend. The Huskers will host Doane at Pinnacle Bank Arena this Sunday night.

This season will be the fifth under the leadership of Fred Hoiberg. Hoiberg is coming off his best season as Nebraska’s head coach, finishing with a record of 16-16.

That’s the best record the Huskers have had since 2018-19, when Tim Miles led Nebraska to a 19-17. That would also be Miles’ final season as Nebraska’s head coach.

Nebraska holds a mark of 62-7 all-time in exhibition games dating back to 1966-67. The Cornhuskers are also 18-0 in exhibition games against in-state teams, including a 2-0 record against Doane.

Tip-off on Sunday will be at 5:00 p.m. CT.
