Coach Greg Schiano is rebuilding the Scarlet Knights in his 2nd stint in Piscataway – he coached Rutgers 2001-11 before taking over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and returned in 2020. It is a challenge as Rutgers has a long way to go before being competitive in the Big Ten.
Nebraska recorded a 35-21 a home win last week against Indiana. This was a desperately needed victory for the morale after coach Scott Frost was fired following a 49-14 blowout to then-No. 6 Oklahoma in Lincoln 2 weeks ago. The ‘Huskers look to stay on the winning track this week in New Jersey.

Nebraska will prevail, but I’m not a fan of laying the -155 price. If you are not comfortable laying the 2.5 points, play the Cornhuskers ML, but be aware that it’s a bit of a pricier play.
Against the spread
BET NEBRASKA -2.5 (-122).
Despite the better record, Rutgers is 0-2 in its conference schedule. Nebraska is 1-1 and coming off a nice victory over Indiana.
Home or road, it does not matter. I like Nebraska here. Rutgers offense is still not good, and the Cornhuskers will be able to outscore the Scarlet Knights and cover this number.
NEBRASKA -2.5 (-122) is my FAVORITE PLAY in this matchup.

LEAN UNDER 50.5 (-110).
Rutgers offense is bad. Its defense is not much better. Nebraska will be able to score in this one. The same will not be done in reverse. While Nebraska should do its part for the Over, Rutgers will not.
