LSU coach Ed Orgeron and his distinctive raspy voice are extremely hard to imitate (it’s more than just saying “Geaux Tigers!”).
But in Young Rock, the new NBC series that looks back the life of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, there’s an actor — Emmett Skilton — who plays Coach O from his days with Miami. And, fun fact: Orgeron was the coach at the time who recruited Johnson the defensive lineman to the Hurricanes! I am today years old when I found that out.
A clip from a recent episode is making the rounds, so here’s Skilton as Orgeron … and it’s pretty great! Also, Orgeron is aware of this, which is doubly great.

I’ve studied the IMDB page for the show and I see some other real people who will be depicted: Andre the Giant, Iron Sheik, Warren Sapp and more. But I need more Coach O, please.
