Mark your calendars — Klay Thompson’s season debut with the Golden State Warriors is set. After different reports and rumors about potential dates for his return from injury swirled, Saturday it became official.
The five-time All-Star guard took to Instagram to announce he would return to Golden State’s lineup on Sunday against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Chase Center. Thompson also a message to basketball and Warriors fans on Twitter.
Sunday will be the first time Thompson has suited up for a basketball game since game six of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. The 31-year-old shooter has missed the last two seasons with a knee and Achilles injury.
Thompson is expected to slide right back into the starting lineup next to his “Splash Brother” Steph Curry on Sunday against the Cavs.
