NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors blowing 21 point lead on way to ugly loss vs. Mavs

After the Warriors let a 21 point lead slip away to the Mavericks in a letdown loss, NBA Twitter exploded with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Sunday.

With a commanding 21 point lead in the third quarter, the Golden State Warriors looked to be cruising to a blowout victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

However, Luka Doncic and Spencer Dinwiddie had different plans. While the Warriors’ offense struggled to find the bottom of the net, the Mavericks caught fire. A red-hot 19-1 run in the fourth quarter cut the Warriors’ lead to only one point with under four minutes remaining.

After cutting into Golden State’s lead, Dallas showed no signs of slowing down on the way to a shocking comeback win in San Francisco, 107-101. In the fourth quarter, the Mavs outscored the Warriors 33-13.
In the final frame, the Warriors’ offense went ice-cold, shooting a lowly 5-of-21 from the field.

Steph Curry led the Warriors with 27 points on 11-of-25 shooting from the field with 10 assists, four rebounds and two steals in 38 minutes. Andrew Wiggins and Gary Payton II were the only other members of the Warriors to record double figures in scoring.

The Mavericks’ new-look backcourt of Doncic and Dinwiddie combined for 58 points against the Warriors on Sunday night.
