The Philadelphia 76ers made their big move on deadline day on Thursday as they were able to swing for the fences and acquire James Harden from the Brooklyn Nets. The deal finally ends the Ben Simmons saga and the Sixers can now move forward with a star duo of Harden and Joel Embiid.
In the deal, the Sixers will send Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and picks to the Nets for Harden and Paul Millsap. The Sixers now get the man they have been chasing for quite some time as they continue to move forward with their plans to contend for a title while Joel Embiid is upright.
The Sixers still have some work to do as they now need a new backup center to Embiid with Drummond gone, but the fact that they have two offensive forces in Harden and Embiid vaults them back in the conversation for East supremacy.
