NBA Twitter reacts to Lakers giving Jarred Vanderbilt an extension

On social media, fans were generally happy the Lakers locked up forward Jarred Vanderbilt for four more seasons.

On Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers embarked further down the road of roster continuity by reportedly giving forward Jarred Vanderbilt a four-year contract extension that will be worth $48 million.

The fourth year of the extension will be a player option, which will help ensure that their new and talented core will be together for at least a couple more years.

Vanderbilt, who arrived in February’s Russell Westbrook trade, was a significant reason why Los Angeles turned things around. His defensive effectiveness and versatility helped the team rank fourth in defensive rating after the All-Star break.

Fans on X, formally known as Twitter, are generally happy that the 6-foot-8 forward will be continuing to wear the Purple and Gold.
