Tempers quickly flared between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves at the start of their in-season tournament contest on Wednesday night at Chase Center.
Before the first bucket of the game, three players were ejected after chaos broke out at center court. After Klay Thompson’s jersey was ripped by Timberwolves wing Jaden McDaniels, Rudy Gobert got involved, pulling Thompson away from his teammate. The situation escalated when Green came to Thompson’s defense.
Green pulled Gobert’s head away from Thompson, putting the Timberwolves center in what appeared to be a headlock, holding him by the neck. After the teams were separated and the official reviewed the scuffle, Thompson, Green and McDaniels were ejected from the game. Wednesday marked Green’s second ejection of the season.
Following the trio of ejections, the NBA community on Twitter erupted with reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on social media on Wednesday evening.
