With the sports world on hold due to the current pandemic in the world, everybody is practicing social distancing and doing what they can to stop the spread of the virus. The NBA season has been on hiatus since March 11 and the league is doing what they can to try and supply NBA entertainment to their fans.
One idea that has been put to use recently has been video games. Philadelphia 76ers rookie Matisse Thybulle and Phoenix Suns guard Mikal Bridges just played against each other on Friday in NBA2K20 for the regularly scheduled Sixers-Suns matchup, for example.
Now, the NBA is looking into starting a players-only 2K tournament.
Yahoo!’s Chris Haynes reports:
The NBA is planning a players-only NBA2K tournament that will feature the league’s sharpest video gamers and it will be broadcast on ESPN, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
The league hopes to launch the event Friday, with the tournament including some big-name players, sources said.
Haynes later did add that each team will have a representative in the tournament.

The Sixers have plenty of guys who love to play video games on their roster such as Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, and Josh Richardson. Most likely, the Sixers will be represented by one of those players.
As long as the Sixers don’t send Thybulle again, they should be in good shape. He is not very good at 2K. [lawrence-related id=28579,28569,28562]
