NBA Playoffs: Former Warrior Alec Burks notches another double-figure scoring effort off the bench in Knicks’ game 4 loss vs. Hawks, 113-96

With the Golden State Warriors punching an early ticket to the offseason after a pair of losses in the Western Conference play-in tournament, Warriors Wire is checking in on former members of Golden State across the 2021 edition of the NBA postseason.

In the opening round of the playoffs, Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant and Miami Heat forward Andre Iguodala lead a featured group of former Warriors trying to get back to the NBA Finals with new teams. Former Warriors DeMarcus Cousins, Alec Burks and JaVale McGee will also be in action during the 2021 playoffs.

Here is a look at how Burks performed during game four between the No. 4 seed New York Knicks and No. 5 Atlanta Hawks.

Eastern Conference Round 1, Game 4: Knicks at Hawks (2-1): 

After taking control of the series with a win in Atlanta in game three, the Hawks had the opportunity to jump to a dominant 3-1 lead over the Knicks on Sunday in game four.

Trae Young continued to thrive at home, tallying a game-high 27 points on 9-of-21 shooting from the floor with nine assists in 33 minutes in game four. Following Young, John Collins and Danilo Gallinari each added scoring performances with 20 or more points to push the Hawks past the Knicks, 113-96. 

Newly announced Most Improved Player Julius Randle led the Knicks with a team-high 23 points on 7-of-19, shooting from the floor with 10 rebounds and seven assists in 36 minutes. 

Former Warrior Alec Burks added 12 points off the bench on 4-of-12 shooting from the floor with six boards in 25 minutes. Burks has now notched double-figure scoring efforts in three of the four games in the series. 

After back-to-back wins for the Hawks in Atlanta, the opening round tilt will head back to New York, where the Knicks will face a must-win to extend the series. Game five of the series is slated for Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. PT.
