NBA playoffs: Former Vols’ May 23 results

A look at how former Vols performed in the NBA playoffs Tuesday.

No. 2 seed Boston defeated Miami, 116-99, Tuesday in Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference finals at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.

Former Vol Grant Williams did not start for the Celtics but played 29 minutes. He totaled 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. Williams made 4-for-7 field goal attempts and 4-of-6 3-point attempts. He converted 2-of-2 free-throw attempts.

Miami leads the best-of-seven series, 3-1.

Game 5 will be Thursday at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Tipoff is slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT, and the game will be televised by TNT.

Williams played at Tennessee from 2016-19 and went to the NBA following his junior season as a two-time SEC Player of the Year.

He was a first-round selection by the Celtics in the 2019 NBA draft (No. 22 overall).
