The NBA and NBPA on Wednesday postponed three playoff games after the Milwaukee Bucks collectively decided to boycott Game 5 against the Orlando Magic to condemn social injustice following the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The Bucks did not take the court prior to the start of the game and refused to leave the locker room. The game was eventually postponed after it became apparent the Bucks would not be playing while they formulated a call of action plan.

Players inside of the Bucks’ locker room were on a conference call with Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul and Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes to discuss potential actions against the officers involved in the shooting, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Blake, a 29-year-old unarmed Black man, was shot on Sunday at least seven times in the back by police officers, who were on scene responding to a domestic dispute. He is in stable condition, paralyzed from the waist down,Β according to his father and Ben Crump, the family’s attorney.

The decision by the Bucks to boycott Game 5 on Wednesday was met with universal praise by players. From LeBron James to Donovan Mitchell, players from around the league stood with the Bucks in their decision to sit out.
