The 2020 NBA Draft will reportedly take place on Oct. 16, one day after the previously announced date by the league, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The NBA announced on June 4 that the Draft was tentatively scheduled for Oct. 15 but it will now occur on Oct. 16. The new date ensures the Draft will not conflict with a Thursday Night Football game in the NFL. Additionally, the early-entry withdrawal deadline will be on Aug. 17.

With the NBA Draft set for October, it is unclear if teams will be able to host prospects for in-person workouts and interviews. Currently, teams are prohibited from meeting with players due to the coronavirus pandemic and can only speak with draft hopefuls virtually.

The NBA is also reportedly looking at hosting some sort of Draft Combine event at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. The event would mirror that of a traditional Draft Combine setting, which would include medical testing, interviews and, potentially, measurements.

With much uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus, things in the NBA remain fluid and can continue to change but for now, the NBA Draft is set to take place in October.
