NBA decides to shut down all training and practice facilities

The NBA has directed all teams to shut down their practice facilities. The Los Angeles Lakers had been holding individual workouts.

The National Basketball Association continues to take more drastic steps in order to help stop the spread of coronavirus during the global pandemic. On Thursday morning, they officially made the decision to shut down all of their training and practice facilities for the immediate future, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Although players wanted a place to get work in and teams like the Los Angeles Lakers had allowed for players to come in for individual workouts at specific times, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that teams were increasingly uneasy about players and other employees coming in contact, even on a limited basis.

The Lakers will obviously no-longer have their players in the facility. Over the weekend, LeBron and his two sons Bronny and Bryce went to the Lakers practice facility. With LeBron on a 14-day self-quarantine after getting tested for coronavirus due to possibly being exposed to the virus after playing the Brooklyn Nets, who had four players test positive for COVID-19, including Kevin Durant.
