National analyst believes Elliot Cadeau could start at UNC right away

Among the biggest questions left to be answered for the UNC basketball program in the coming weeks involves the potential for recruit reclassifications from 2024 to 2023.

UNC has two recruits that are candidates to reclassify, Ian Jackson and Elliot Cadeau. It is possible neither decides to make that jump and instead stays in the 2024 class. Of the two, it appears Cadeau is the most likely to reclassify and potentially most ready.

Travis Branham is a national recruiting analyst of 247Sports who praised Cadeau in May, saying the guard could start at UNC right away and he wouldn’t have any reservations.

Branham made the comment on the “Inside Carolina” podcast:

I don’t think many would disagree with that statement. Cadeau has elevated his game since committing to North Carolina. He was even called the best passer in the 2024 class by an analyst.

With North Carolina having a loaded 2024 class, the future is bright in Chapel Hill. But if Cadeau moves up, UNC’s roster looks even better in 2023.
