Records: Diaz 0-1-0 (0 KOs) | Masvidal 1-0-0 (0 KOs)
Diaz has just 1 previous sanctioned bout in his boxing career, falling in his pro debut at American Airlines Center in Dallas against social media sensation turned boxer Jake Paul Aug. 5, 2023.
Diaz did a good job in the 10-round fight, eventually falling by unanimous decision, with Paul outpointing him 98-91, 98-91 and 97-92. Diaz was knocked down once in Round 5.
Masvidal also has a pro fight under his belt, winning via majority decision against Joseph Benjamin at the Radisson Mart Plaza Hotel in Miami June 28, 2005. He then went on to have a successful UFC career, including a TKO-Doctor’s Stoppage win in Round 3 at UFC 244 on Nov. 2, 2019.
These 2 rivals had a press conference June 6, and a brawl between the 2 camps took place, with Masvidal’s boxing coach getting attacked.

Diaz vs. Masvidal picks and predictions
Fight result (2-way line or moneyline)
Masvidal (-270) will cost 2.7 times the potential return if you’d like to play the favorite on the 2-way moneyline. It’s not a recommended betting strategy to play such a heavy favorite, however.
Instead, let’s get a little more specific. While we saw a brawl at the presser in early June, the excitement in the ring between these former UFC rivals might be a bit more muted. These 2 pugilists have had just 2 pro bouts between them.
Look for the action to be a little slow out of the gate, building as we go, MASVIDAL BY POINTS OR DECISION (+135) at plus-money is a strong play.
Over/Under (O/U)
YES (-186): WILL FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is quite pricey, but it’s a good play in this battle.
We should see a slow go in the first few rounds as these guys try to get comfortable in the 1st half of the match. We should see some solid punches landed, and there will be a lot of anger growing as the match goes along. Masvidal was especially miffed with the way Diaz’s camp handled the brawl in June, and that has been festering for the past month. Masvidal should be able to get the job done via points.
