The NASCAR Cup Series entered the Charlotte ROVAL with the purpose of putting on a show for the Round of 8 finale and it was a calm yet fun event. Ryan Blaney won his third race of the 2023 NASCAR season at Martinsville en route to a spot in the Championship 4. Blaney will now run for his first Cup Series title at Phoenix Raceway.
As for other drivers, Denny Hamlin was eliminated from the 2023 Cup Series playoffs after getting behind Blaney. Martin Truex Jr. was also eliminated after entering the finale with a 17-point deficit to the playoff cut-line. To round out the Round of 8 eliminations, Tyler Reddick and Chris Buescher put up a good fight but came up short.
