NASCAR is officially back. On Monday afternoon, the entry lists for the opening weekend of the 2024 season at Daytona International Speedway were revealed. They include a shocking entry into the 2024 Daytona 500, while six drivers will not make the field in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. With the entry lists released, let’s take a closer look.
Jimmie Johnson headlines the Daytona 500 while the NY Racing Team is on the entry list. Currently, the No. 44 car has no driver, but Greg Biffle is a logical candidate after attempting races with the team in the past. Due to their entry, two drivers will not make the show. Meanwhile, the Xfinity Series has 44 entries, which means six drivers will go home. The notables include Ryan Truex, John Hunter Nemechek, and Frankie Muniz.

Toni Breidinger and Johnny Sauter lead the way in the Truck Series for notable entries. There are 38 entries; however, Jennifer Jo Cobb is expected to be a late entry. Therefore, three drivers will go home. Overall, the NASCAR entry lists at Daytona are stacked with big names and teams that are looking to make their debuts.
