NASCAR is fresh off an exciting weekend of racing at Kansas Speedway, where the sport saw Kyle Larson beat Chris Buescher by 0.001 seconds in the closest Cup Series finish ever. Now, the racing series is set for Darlington Raceway. All three NASCAR levels will participate on track, so let’s take a closer look at the entry lists released for Darlington.
In the Cup Series, there are significant changes after a 38-car field at Kansas. There will be no open entries after Jimmie Johnson and Austin Hill competed in last weekend’s event. Meanwhile, Kaz Grala (No. 15 for Rick Ware Racing) and Derek Kraus (No. 16 for Kaulig Racing) are the two drivers for the teams with no full-time driver and a charter.
The Xfinity Series has a group of veteran and inexperienced drivers, with Aric Almirola (Joe Gibbs Racing) and John Hunter Nemechek (Sam Hunt Racing) coming back for starts. Most notably, William Byron (Hendrick Motorsports) makes another start while Carson Kvapil returns to the No. 88 car. Overall, every driver will make the show with 38 entries at Darlington.

Finally, the Truck Series will feature some big names from the Cup Series. Kyle Busch (Spire Motorsports) and Ross Chastain (Niece Motorsports) will make starts, with Conner Jones (ThorSport Racing) and Jack Wood (McAnally-Hilgemann Racing) returning to the series. Overall, every driver will make the show with 32 entries at Darlington.
The race weekend in Darlington will begin on Friday, May 10. NASCAR is returning to Darlington for its first date of 2024, and everyone is excited to see who can tame the track on throwback weekend.
