Just one day after receiving news that Ohio State landed a transfer in Penn State guard Jamari Wheeler, we get further information that current guard Musa Jallow is leaving the program and will enter the transfer portal.
Jallow spent four years at Ohio State after reclassifying in 2016 as a 17-year old freshman for head coach Chris Holtmann’s first recruiting class. He has seen solid time throughout his career but, even starting 28 of the 94 games he appeared in, but seemed to get lost in the rotation at times last season. He averaged 2.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and shot 50.8% from the floor in 15.6 minutes per contest last season.
The athletic, defensive-minded guard announced his decision on Twitter Wednesday.
“I gave everything I had mentally and physically to represent Ohio State the right way on and off the court,” he wrote. “Despite my efforts, my basketball career has been far from perfect these past four years, but I continue to hold high expectations for myself.”

“Musa has been a joy to coach these past 4 years,” Holtmann said in a statement. “He is a talented player and a tremendous person. Despite battling injuries these past 2 years he has made a very positive impact on our team. Musa has graduated and will always be a Buckeye. We will help and support him in any way.”
It’s the way of the world these days. As athletic as Jallow is in the open court, I’ve always said he could probably flourish offensively in a system that likes to get up and down the court a little more. We wish nothing but the best for Jallow.
