The 2021-22 NBA regular season is coming down to the wire as there are only four games left in the season for the Philadelphia 76ers. That means it is time to really debate the MVP winner as the season begins to come to a close.
The main candidates are Sixers star Joel Embiid as well as Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets and Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks. It has been a lengthy debate all season, but considering the circumstances, it probably should go to Embiid.
The Sixers have been dealing with a ton of adversity all season long from the Ben Simmons saga to a lot of injuries to a lot of COVID issues and yet Embiid threw this team on his back on a nightly basis and kept them competitive through it all. The Sixers were the No. 3 seed entering the All-Star break before they acquired James Harden so that goes to show how great Embiid has been.
After delivering again on Sunday going for 44 points and 17 rebounds with five blocks in a win, his teammates were in awe of what the big man did and believe he is the MVP award winner.
