MSU target, 4-star DL Xadavien Sims crystal balled to Oregon with commitment looming

It appears Michigan State is going to come up just short again on the recruiting trail for a big-time prospect.

It appears Michigan State is going to come up just short again on the recruiting trail for a big-time prospect.

The Spartans were once the leaders to land four-star defensive lineman Xadavien Sims, but he is now forecasted to pick Oregon when he announces his commitment on Saturday. Oregon picked up a handful of crystal ball projections in their favor on 247Sports on Wednesday, including from one of the top recruiting insiders Steve Wiltfong.

Sims ranks as the No. 16 defensive lineman and No. 121 overall prospect in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2024 class. He’s also listed as the No. 1 player from Oklahoma.

Sims will officially announce his commitment on Saturday, but it doesn’t appear to be good news for the Spartans. He will be deciding between Michigan State, Oregon, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt and TCU.
