Michigan State football is reportedly one of a few schools that is heavily involved in the recruitment of a big-time running back prospect from Ohio.
Allen Trieu of 247Sports reported on Monday that Michigan State is in “regular contact” with four-star running back Favour Akih of the 2026 class. Trieu also noted NC State, Penn State, Alabama and Iowa State as other schools notably in the mix for Akih.
Akih ranks as the No. 13 running back in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class. He’s also listed as the No. 6 player from Ohio and No. 137 overall prospect in the class.
Akih has received offers from seven schools, including Michigan State. He also has offers from Iowa State, Penn State, USF, Toledo, West Virginia and William Penn, according to 247Sports.
