5-star shooting guard Max Christie is the top shooting guard in the 2021 recruiting class and a primary target for Michigan State Basketball and Tom Izzo. However, while Christie has had meeting with MSU and has been heavily recruited by the Spartans, thus far he has been firmly projected to end up at Duke, until today. On Wednesday, 247Sports insider Sean Scherer became the first site insider to give Christie a Crystal Ball prediction to end up with Michigan State and gave that prediction a confidence level of 8/10.
Scherer, who writes for SpartanTailgate, has an all-time prediction hit rate of 79.22%, which is actually the second highest rate of the seven insiders who predicted Christie’s commitment.
Christie, who is coming out of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, is currently the No. 11 ranked player in the 2021 class. While he has been projected to Duke for awhile, his recruitment by MSU has continued to gain momentum. The Spartans also have an offer out to his younger brother Cam.
