The Los Angeles Rams acquired the final pick in the 2023 NFL draft when they traded down in a deal with the Houston Texans, giving them the chance to add Mr. Irrelevant to their roster.
At No. 259 overall, the Rams selected Toledo defensive lineman Desjuan Johnson. He’s a similar size to Aaron Donald and Kobie Turner, standing 6-foot-2 and 285 pounds.
He’s not the longest defender, which limits his upside and can sometimes prevent him from getting off blockers, but he’s a powerful defender who can eat up double teams and hold his own on the interior.
Last season at Toledo, he had 16.5 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks, earning first-team All-MAC honors.
And finally, Mr. Irrelevant: With the final pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, the #Rams select at No. 259 — #Toledo DT Desjuan Johnson.
Can he repeat the impact of last year's edition?
