During the lead up to the 2023 NFL draft, it appears the stock of Texas running back Bijan Robinson is on the rise.
But none of that really matters once the draft rolls around. Players have been known to fall down the board, specifically running backs.
While Robinson has been touted as one of the best prospects in the 2023 class, his position isn’t valued as highly as it once was. Could that mean he falls to the Bills’ first selection at No. 27 overall? CBS Sports thinks it’s possible.
In a mock projection from the outlet, Robinson is plucked off the board by Buffalo. Last season, Robinson rushed for 1,580 rushing yards, an average of 6.1 per carry, with 20 total touchdowns in 12 games.
The six-foot back has a big frame at 220 pounds. The Draft Network raves about his build and athleticism. He has the makings of an every-down back in the NFL.
If Robinson is actually there, the Bills might not be able to resist taking him, even after signing Damien Harris in free agency to replace the departed Devin Singletary, who joined with the Houston Texans.
Here’s the CBS Sports breakdown on Robinson’s fall to the Bills:
What a blessing for the Bills to have Robinson fall into their lap. Buffalo could address the pass rush, but there’s no player at the back of the first round who would provide the impact to the team Robinson would. Robinson would take a significant amount of pressure off Josh Allen in the run game, the true RB1 Buffalo needs.
