Second-year freshman wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig suffered a lower-body injury during the Buffaloes’ loss to UCLA on Saturday and is “likely done for the year,” Karl Dorrell announced Monday.
The 6-foot-2 wideout was CU’s fourth-leading receiver with 10 receptions for 123 yards on the year. His shining moment of the season came against Oregon State when he caught a go-ahead TD late in the game. He also caught three passes for 52 yards against Arizona. Needless to say, he was quickly becoming a top target for Brendon Lewis.

Fortunately for the Buffaloes, they still hold a plethora of young talent at wide receiver. Brenden Rice has led the group but true freshmen Chase Penry, Chris Carpenter and Ty Robinson should now have a bigger role moving forward. Second year freshman La’Vontae Shenault, who recently returned from suspension, is also looking to finish the season strong.
Colorado has just two games remaining and welcomes Washington to Folsom Field on Saturday.
