Monster Hunter: Rise’s Sunbreak expansion gets a release date

June will be a good month for monster-slaying enthusiasts.

Would-be beast slayers should know that Monster Hunter Rise’s Sunbreak expansion is coming out on June 30, 2022.

Capcom went ahead with the release date announcement on Tuesday. Unlike Monster Hunter Rise’s initial launch last year, Sunbreak will come out simultaneously on Nintendo Switch and PC, though there (regrettably) won’t be cross-platform play. Monster Hunter Rise only came out on PC recently, and GLHF’s Dave Aubrey said it was one of the series’ best entries in his review

There’s also a brand new trailer for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak showing some of the new beasts and gear that you can check out below.

Capcom has a colossal publisher sale on Steam for the next week, and Monster Hunter Rise is one of the many titles seeing discounts. Here’s a list of the best deals.

Monster Hunter was big in Japan for years but never took off in other regions. Not until Monster Hunter World came out in 2018 and became the highest-selling title in Capcom’s history with 20 million copies sold. Now the series is right up there with Resident Evil and Street Fighter as one of the company’s crown jewels.
