Minnesota’s Daniel Oturu plans to enter the 2020 NBA Draft

Oturu finished second in the Big Ten in scoring and led the conference in both rebounding and blocks, respectively.

Minnesota Golden Gophers center Daniel Oturu told ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowski that he plans to enter his name for the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft.

The sophomore averaged 20.1 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 31 games this season with the Golden Gophers. Oturu finished second in the Big Ten in scoring and led the conference in both rebounding and blocks, respectively.

Oturu shot 36.5% from 3-point range this season, a respectable number at his position. He projects to be a strong defensive player and an elite rebounder at the next level. Oturu is projected to be selected 27th on the latest 2020 Rookie Wire Mock Draft.

The 6-foot-10 product has been touted as a player that can work proficiently in the post and is a viable option in the pick-and-pop game. Teams will likely be curious to see how his shooting form can improve but he showed a solid foundation to build upon as he prepares for the draft.
