Would Minnesota RT Daniel Faalele be a good pick for the Raiders at No. 86?

The Raiders are expected to address their offensive line early in the 2022 NFL Draft. One spot that needs a lot of attention is at right tackle as Brandon Parker is slated to be the team’s Day 1. But could the Raiders find their right tackle of the future at No. 86?

In a recent mock draft by Dalton Miller of the Pro Football Network, he mocked Daniel Faalele from Minnesota to the Raiders at No. 86. Here is a snippet of what Lance Zielein of NFL.com had to say about the huge offensive tackle:

“Enormous right tackle prospect who often feels like he’s going through an internal checklist of movements rather than cutting it loose and playing. Faalele has been able to overwhelm and move opponents with his sheer mass but might need a little more spice in his play demeanor to become a more willful, nasty block finisher against NFL linemen.

He’s ready to stuff a face-up rush attack right now, but lacks the lateral change-of-direction quickness to succeed if left out on an island against speed.”

If Faalele hits his ceiling as a player, he could be Trent Brown in the NFL. And while that’s not a name that fans of the Raiders will like to hear, he is still one of the best right tackles in the NFL when he is healthy.

Faalele needs to work on his foot quickness and should try to shed some weight to play in the NFL. But if the Raiders want a massive run-blocker on the right side of their offensive line, Faalele would be a good fit.
