Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is truly one of the unique personalities in football. There really isn’t another NFL head coach like him, and the Dolphins have totally embraced that personality in a 6-3 start to the season.
McDaniel even had Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields laughing in the middle of a game.
The Dolphins head coach was asked on Monday about an exchange cameras picked up during Sunday’s win over the Bears. Fields, who was in the process of breaking the single-game quarterback rushing record with 178 yards, was tearing up the Dolphins defense, so McDaniel simply asked Fields to stop running.
Fields did not listen.

McDaniel detailed that conversation during the press conference and had the most delightfully sarcastic way of explaining what went down. He said:
“No, I just wanted him to stop scrambling. And it was pretty irritating because he didn’t listen … at all. He didn’t take the coaching.”
I mean, every NFL coach needs to be like that. Fans also loved that answer.
