Mike Evans on Bucs-Saints brawl: ‘It gets spicy when you come to New Orleans’

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans talks about the on-field fight that led to his ejection from Sunday’s game

There’s no love lost between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints, as was evidenced by the second-half brawl that ended with Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans and Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore being ejected from the game.

Lattimore was exchanging words with Bucs quarterback Tom Brady, then shoved Tampa Bay running back Leonard Fournette in the face.

Evans couldn’t let that go, so he charged onto the field and knocked Lattimore to the ground, which kicked off the fight.

After the game, Evans was asked about the high-level emotions of the rivalry, and what set off the fight between him and his longtime rival (via ESPN’s Jenna Laine):

Both players could be looking at potential fines or even a suspension for their role in the tussle, but Evans and the Bucs came away with the big win on the road against their NFC South rivals.
