Heading into the 2014 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a huge need for a true No. 1 wide receiver. Picking at No. 7 overall, chances were good that they would be able to land one of the top pass-catchers in the class.
They did just that with Mike Evans, a massive playmaker who dominated with his rare combination of size, athleticism and physicality.
Despite his track record of success against top competition, some questioned Evans’ big-play ability due to a perceived lack of elite top-end speed.
Evans, who has since become one of the NFL’s most consistently productive receivers, took a few moments Friday to remind the doubters how silly those concerns were, using one of his Aggie highlights:
Somebody said I had pedestrian speed on one of my draft evaluations lol https://t.co/8IyrYSocNQ

Evans is the only player in NFL history to go over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first eight seasons in the league, and no other player has more touchdown receptions than Evans since he entered the league.
Well on his way to a gold jacket, Evans doesn’t mind reminding the haters they were wrong.
