With the Big Ten set to kick off this week, this is where AP voters have ranked Michigan football and the rest of college football, Big Ten.

With it being game week, we’ll know precisely how good Big Ten teams are a week from now. But, for the moment, much of the conference is still on the outside looking in according to the latest AP Top 25.

Many voters have abstained from voting for the conferences that haven’t yet played, but with chaos reigning supreme in college football lately, it’ll be difficult to keep the Big Ten teams from rising to the top.

Sure, Ohio State is ranked No. 5 and Penn State is No. 8, but do many really think that the Buckeyes are worse than Notre Dame?

As for Michigan, it comes in ranked one better than last week, now at No. 18, with No. 21 Minnesota on deck on Saturday. Its next ranked opponent comes in Big Ten Week Four, when the Wolverines face the No. 14 Wisconsin Badgers.
