Coming into Sunday, Michigan State’s women’s basketball program was ranked No. 19 and took their ranking into College Park (MD) for a matchup with the No. 9 Maryland Terrapins. Despite a valiant comeback effort, the Spartans fell just short, dropping the matchup 72-66.
Theryn Hallock led the way for MSU, scoring 20 points in the contest. Julia Ayrault had another double double, securing 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Now, after dropping two games in a row, MSU will look to right the ship when they go up against Purdue on New Year’s Day inside of the Breslin Center.
