Starting the season 6-0 definitely warrants being in the AP Top 25. That is exactly what the Michigan State women’s basketball team has done and comes in at No. 25 in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll.

This is the Spartans best start to a season since the 2012-13 season. This is the first time the Spartans have been in the Top 25 this season. The last time the women’s team was inside the AP Top 25 was December 22, 2019.

The Spartans next test is against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. EST. Oakland is 3-3 on the year so far and is coming off a back-to-back against Wright State in which they split the games. They are led by junior Kahlaijah Dean who is averaging 16.7 PPG, 5 RPG and 2.5 APG.
